Arnaldo Brown was elected the first Member of Parliament for East Central St Catherine on 29th December 2011 and was appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on Friday, January 6, 2012.

 

 Public Service

An attorney-at-law by profession, the Former Member of Parliament and Former Minister of State was tasked with the Diaspora and Foreign Trade portfolios in the Ministry.

Between 2006 to 2007, Arnaldo served as Senior Consultant to Dr. Peter Phillips, MP who was then Minister of National Security. In 2006,He also served Senior Director in the Access to Information Unit in the Office of the Cabinet. Prior to that, between 2003 and 2006 he was Special Advisor to then Minister of Development, Dr. Paul Robertson.

 

 Public Service

ARNALDO has also served as Director of the National Insurance Fund Board, Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Appeals Tribunal, and was a Legal Consultant for the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Review Panel and member of the Jamaica Justice Reform Taskforce.

 

Legal Career

Having been called to the Bar in 2002, Arnaldo practiced law before assuming public office, and in 2007 started his own private practice: Arnaldo A. Brown and Company, Attorneys-at- law.

 

Career

With a Post Graduate Degree in Government and International Relations, Arnaldo has tutored in the Department of Government at the University of the West Indies

 

Student Activism

The former Head Boy of Glenmuir High and Former Vice President of the Guild of students of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Former President of Advent Fellowship, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and Second Year Student Representative, Faculty of Law, Cavehill Campus as well as Hall King, Cavehill Campus, Arnaldo Brown was very active as a student.

 

Community

He was raised in Hampton Court, St. Thomas, Mountain View Avenue, in the parishes of Kingston and Saint Andrew, Braeton Phase 1 in the Parish of Saint Catherine and Mineral Heights in the Parish of Clarendon, Jamaica.

 

Family

Arnaldo Brown is a father.
